The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has upgraded the recall of some eggs sold at Costco to a Class I, the highest risk level, because of the potential contamination with Salmonella.

The Food and Drug Administration has issued its strongest warning to thousands of eggs distributed to Costco locations in five states last month, saying there is a “reasonable possibility” that eating them could result in “serious adverse health consequences or death.

Supplier: Handsome Brook Farms.

Distribution: Roughly 10,800 cartons sold in 25 Costco stores located in southern U.S. states, including Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

Purchase Period: Begins November 22, 2024.

Use-By Date: January 5, 2025.
